The United States is considering adding Romania to its visa waiver program
Posted on: October 30, 2021
The Honorary Consulate welcomes the contemplated addition of Romania to the Visa Waiver Program alongside the 40 nations already enjoying visa-free travel to the US. This addition would provide economic and security benefits and increase the mobility of Romanian artists, entrepreneurs, students and many others and will open up US tourism to many more Romanians.
Romania is considered to be added to the United States’ visa waiver program, alongside with Israel, Cyprus and Bulgaria. The candidate countries must meet a set of requirements regarding law enforcement, counter-terrorist measures, immigration enforcement, border management and document security.
