The Honorary Consulate of Romania to Connecticut is pleased to announce its strategic partnership with the League for the Defense of Human Rights, Cluj, Romania branch (LADO CLUJ), a member of the FIDH - International Federation for Human Rights, Paris. The mission of LADO Cluj is to defend and promote fundamental human rights and freedoms and the principles of democracy.  Since 2001, LADO CLUJ is also one of the leading providers of integrated services for migrants in Romania, with commitments in developing intercultural communities and promoting solidarity.

The first step in our collaboration is to assist Ukrainian refugees on Romanian soil who have relatives in the United States and wish to 1) find safety in Romania, followed by 2) immigrating to the US to be reunited with their families.

We look forward to many other joint programs that would advance immigrant and refugee rights in the US and Romania.
